Treatment and dosing

Thorens 25,000 I.U./2.5ml oral solution is indicated for the initial treatment of clinically relevant vitamin D deficiency in adults.1

SIMPLE dosing schedule example1:

  • 1 small bottle a week for 4 weeks
  • 1 small bottle per month thereafter*.

Thorens 10,000 I.U./ml oral drops, solution, is indicated for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency in adults, adolescents and children with an identified risk.2

Why Thorens?

  • Thorens Vitamin D based products offer your patients an easy to take liquid solution that may particularly benefit:1,2
    • High risk patients which include3:
      • People aged 65 and over.
      • People who have low or no exposure to the sun, for example those who cover their skin for cultural reasons, who are housebound or who are confined indoors for long periods.
      • People who have darker skin, for example people of African, African-Caribbean or South Asian origin, because their bodies are not able to make as much vitamin D.
  • Those with difficulty swallowing.
  • Those who dislike tablets.

*The recommended dose for the initial treatment of clinically relevant vitamin D deficiency in adults is one bottle weekly. After the first month, lower doses may be considered dependent upon desirable serum levels of 25-hydroxycolecalciferol (25(OH)D), the severity of the disease and the patient’s response to treatment1.

Thorens 25,000 I.U./2.5mL oral solution is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
