PKU GO

PKU GO1 is for use in the dietary management of Phenylketonuria (PKU).

PKU GO does not contain the amino acid phenylalanine. PKU Go is a suitable amino acid, vitamin, and mineral source for children from 9 months to 10 years of age with PKU. PKU GO can be taken either as a paste or liquid drink.

DOSAGE:

To be determined by the clinician or dietician and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient. Each sachet provides the equivalent of 10 grams of protein.

PREPARATION GUIDELINES: 

Preparation as a paste:

  • Empty a sachet into a beaker. Add approximately 20 ml of cold water
  • Shake for 10 seconds
  • Leave to stand for 2 mins – hereafter ready to be taken

Preparation as a liquid drink:

  • Empty a sachet into a beaker. Add approximately 100 ml of cold water
  • Shake for 10 seconds
  • Ready for drinking

PKU GO is recommended to be used immediately after mixing. Mixed PKU GO should be refrigerated and used within 24 hours.

STORAGE:

Store in a cool, dry place.

PACK SIZE:

30 x 20 gram sachets.

SHELF LIFE:

Shelf life is 24 months.2

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Must only be given to patients with proven PKU under strict medical supervision. Suitable from 9 months to 10 years of age. Not for use as a sole source of nutrition. Diet must be supplemented with natural protein, water and other nutrients in prescribed quantities to supply phenylalanine, fluid and general nutritional requirements. For enteral use only.
