PKU EASY Microtabs

PKU EASY Microtabs1 are for use in the dietary management of Phenylketonuria for ages 8 years and above.

PKU EASY Microtabs are small prolonged-release micro-sized tablets containing essential and non-essential amino acids. The phenylalanine free medical food is amino acid based only, allowing for flexibility when supplementing patients with vitamins and minerals to allow for what their body needs.

DOSAGE:

To be determined by the clinician or dietician and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient. Each level capful provides approximately 10 grams of protein. 

PREPARATION GUIDELINES: 

  • One level capful of PKU EASY Microtabs provides 10 grams of protein equivalent (14 g total weight).
  • PKU EASY Microtabs are to be swallowed with liquid or eaten with cold food such as jam or fruit purée.
  • Do not chew PKU EASY Microtabs. 

STORAGE:

Store in a cool, dry place.

PACK SIZE:

4 x 110 grams.

SHELF LIFE:

Shelf life is 18 months.2

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Must only be given to patients with proven PKU under strict medical supervision. Suitable from 8 years of age. Not for use as a sole source of nutrition. Diet must be supplemented with natural protein, water and other nutrients in prescribed quantities to supply phenylalanine, fluid and general nutritional requirements. For enteral use only.
