Galen, the privately owned pharmaceutical company, has announced the launch of the 2026 John Hinds Scholarship Award, now in its seventh year in partnership with the College of Paramedics.

The award honours the legacy of Dr John Hinds, a much-loved and respected figure among paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) across the island of Ireland. Renowned for his dedication to prehospital care, Dr Hinds gave generously of his time to educate and support frontline responders. The scholarship continues to reflect his passion and commitment.

“Dr John Hinds was a passionate advocate for high-quality emergency medical care and dedicated countless hours to mentoring and educating paramedics and ambulance personnel,” said Dr Dennise Broderick, Managing Director & President of Galen. “Through our ongoing sponsorship of the John Hinds Scholarship Award, we are honoured to help carry forward his legacy.

This award not only commemorates Dr Hinds’ extraordinary contributions but also empowers today’s prehospital professionals to advance their skills and deliver even greater care to the communities they serve. We strongly encourage paramedics and EMTs across the island of Ireland to apply for this unique and transformative opportunity.”

Thanks again to Galen and the College of Paramedics!”
